AAAAAAAAAAUGH I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOU RIGHT NOW IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. DX I really want to see The National live one of these days -- but they're not playing in Connecticut between now and early September, and they're not playing in Vermont after that, and knowing my situation (no car, no license, no money, no friends) there's no way I can see them as a result. ;_; But I love the new album! What are your thoughts on it? And what's your favorite song? (And in case you couldn't tell, I like to use quotes from their songs as subject lines too. XD)
SO ANYWAY HOW HAVE YOU BEEN? I've been meaning to comment on your more recent entries but never got around to it. SO I HEARD YOU TOOK THE SATs? That must've been very painful. Have I ever told you I took them three times? The first two I took in middle school (7th and 8th grades) as part of Johns Hopkins' Talent Search, and I actually did really well on them! Of course, that was the old test, and when I took it for realz, it was the new one with the writing section, which I did horribly on, but everything else (as well as three SAT IIs) got me into a selective college that I now hate, so.....yeah. 8D And your post on empathy vs. compassion was really good too (even though I probably wouldn't define those words exactly like that, but whatever), and it was really thought-provoking. I might do a post on it sometime soon, you never know. And your link to the "sane privilege" essay was pretty good too. :D
